Zelensky offers to create program for organs transplantation in Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelensky has offered to create a program for human organs transplantation, which is supposed to be launched within two years. He said so at a meeting with business representatives on July 9, as quoted by

"This program on transplantation, I'm ready... Let's do this. Let's take this program, and I realize what kind of sum [we need] - 3-4 billion (USD 107 million, - 112 International). We;ll do everything to find this money. If you say it's possible and we can do this in two years, do this in Ukraine - well, let's focus on this program then, and do this today", the President said.

In December 2019, the Ukrainian Parliament passed the respective law, and the president signed it. The bill provides solution to issues of transplantation of anatomic materials to a human recipient, brings national legislature with international acts and makes the processes automatic, thanks to gradual implementation of the United State Information System of transplantation of organs and tissues.
