Zelensky not to discuss special status of Donbas with Normandy Four leaders

Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov underlined that the special status of Donbas will not be discussed at the Normandy Summit in Paris on December 9 as Ukraina TV channel reported.

“None of this (special status of Donbas, - 112.international) will be presented at Normandy Format. After the meeting, the additional position, which will be said to Ukrainian society and it will be adopted in the Verkhovna Rada. Zelensky does not depart from this position and red lines. I think it is the right approach,” Razumkov noted.

According to the speaker, when the president comes from the Normandy Summit a more qualitative discussion on the law on Donbas special status will be held.

Earlier presidential assistant Andriy Yermak stated that in case of the successful holding of the Normandy Four summit, Volodymyr Zelensky plans to submit the bill on the extension of the special status of the local self-government in uncontrolled part of Donbas.

The leaders of France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine will meet in Paris on December 9 in the attempt to intensify the efforts in the search of peace settlement of Donbas Conflict.
