During his visit to Germany, president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is not going to discuss the compensation for the launch of Nord Stream 2. Serhiy Nikiforov, the press secretary said so on the air of Ukraine 24 TV channel.
According to the official, Zelensky is going to try and stop the launch of the gas pipeline.
"Zelensky's stance is as follows: Nord Stream 2 is far beyond the matters of the economy; it's a matter of security. This is why I guess that there would be no talking about economic compensations", the press secretary said.
Nikiforov admitted that the Ukrainian side could agree on certain security guarantees, including these regarding Ukraine's occupied territories.
"If one fails to do so so, we will talk about guarantees, the security guarantees. And most likely, if we talk about these, they will concern the return of the occupied territories. I believe we can agree on such a trade," he said.
