President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Ambassador in Germany Andrij Melnyk stated that on his Twitter page. 

This is the sixth phone conversation between Merkel and Zelensky. 

Melnyk noted that Ukraine has the closest political dialogue with Germany.

"The sixth phone conversation between President Volodymyr Zelensky and Chancellor Angela Merkel has just happened. We have the closest political dialogue with Germany than with any other world country. We appreciate huge support of our German friends," the Ambassador wrote. 

Earlier, President of Russia Vladimir Putin held the phone talk with Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel. They discussed the possible continuation of the gas transit to the EU through Ukraine. 

“Due to the holding of the next round of the trilateral talks Russia-EU-Ukraine in Brussels, the exchange of opinions on the continuation of the transit of the Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine after the end of the proper contract at the end of 2019,” the press service of Putin reported.
