Zelensky lifts part of anti-Russian sanctions, restores access to Russian software

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed the order on the extension of some anti-Russian sanctions but some of the restrictions were lifted as document #184/2020 states.

Granddaughter of Italian political figure Benito Mussolini – Alessandra Mussolini is among the people who faced the lifting of the sanctions. In November 2018, she was the observer at the elections in the so-called Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics. Besides, the restrictive measures were lifted toward nine physical persons, including five members of the so-called election committees of Donbas republics.

Moreover, the decision of the National Security and Defense Council signed by the president restores the access of the Russian software to the Ukrainian business structures and state bodies.

The Russian producer of enterprise software Parus was withdrawn from the sanctions list. The sanctions were lifted from nine companies of this group. This software is used for the management of the state bodies, bodies of the local self-government and corporations.

Besides, three IT companies of the Russian origin – Sapran Ukraina, Mont UA and GISINFO were released from the sanctions. Totally, the sanctions were lifted from 12 companies.

As we reported, members of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) made a decision to extend the sanctions against Russian social networks and Internet services.
