President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky plans to eliminate the District administrative court of Kyiv. Office of the President claims that the respective draft law has been submitted for the Parliament's consideration, but there's still no sign of it in the digital system.
The draft bill is marked as urgent.
According to Part 2, Art. 125 of the Constitution of Ukraine, the court is created, reorganized and eliminated by the law, which is filed by President of Ukraine after consultation with the High Council of Justice.
"Today, I'm submitting the draft law about the elimination of District administrative court of Kyiv for the Parliament's consideration. The court could not regain trust but managed to get back to scandals and odd decision, which are too far from the meaning of justice. Enough of the vaults with millions in cash owned by those close to the court's leaders or expectations of new tapes from the offices of judges who believe they overpower everything in this country. The court that can devastate any achievment of the state with a single decision will be eliminated. Consider it a signal for any court that betrayed respect for the law", Zelensky said.
In October 2020, Office of the President reacted to the public petition for liquidation of District administrative court of Kyiv, which scored the necessary 25,000 votes. Back then, Zelensky ordered to start consultations with the High Council of Justice about the future status of the Court.
