"Given the rapid increase in the number of cases of coronavirus infection Covid-19 in Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky instructed Prime Minister Denys Shmygal to urgently conduct a comprehensive assessment of the readiness of hospitals to help patients, provide institutions with all the necessary equipment. In addition, the head of state instructed the government to provide medical workers with personal protective equipment in full and strengthen control over the observance of quarantine measures," the message said.
Besides, the Cabinet of Ministers should revise the mode of operation of the checkpoints of entry into the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
"Ukraine knows how to mobilize, if necessary. It's time for the government to mobilize forces to prevent a second wave of coronavirus infection, which could have dire consequences not only for the economy, but also for our human capital," Volodymyr Zelensky said.
