President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is convinced that the United States will not leave Ukraine, as happened with Afghanistan. He stated this in an interview with CNN.

"It is not entirely correct to compare the situation in Afghanistan and Ukraine. I don't think we can compare it - Ukraine and Afghanistan. Ukraine is not as dependent on the United States as Afghanistan was," Zelensky said.

He expressed confidence that the United States would not repeat the scenario of Afghanistan with regard to Ukraine, and would not stop its participation in Ukrainian affairs, but, on the contrary, would only increase its influence.

Zelensky also recalled that when the escalation began in 2014 and part of the Ukrainian territories was occupied, there were no other troops in Ukraine to defend it, except for its own citizens and volunteers. And during all this time, Russia has failed to establish control over Ukraine, which has retained its independence.

On August 31, the process of withdrawing US troops from Afghanistan was completed.
