President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held the meeting in Toronto with the lawmakers of Canada’s parliament, representatives of the group of friendship with Ukraine as president’s press service reported.
Zelensky expressed gratitude for consistent support of Ukraine by all political parties presented in the Canadian parliament.
"I want to thank the Canadian Parliament for the consolidated support for the issues concerning Ukraine," the President said.
He also thanked the members of the parliament for the participation in the mission of observers at recent presidential elections in Ukraine and welcomed the intention of the Canadian side to send the similar mission to the parliamentary elections.
Moreover, the president noted the active position of the Canadian lawmakers toward the counteraction the Russian aggression and implementation of powerful Canadian anti-Russian sanctions.
Zelensky expressed the hope for the continuation of active inter-parliamentary contact after formation of the new Verkhovna Rada’s MPs’ group on connections with Canada.
As is known, the Ukrainian leader is on the working visit to Canada; it ends today, July 3. Zelensky met with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Foreign Minister Christine Freeland.
