President Volodymyr Zelensky said that during a meeting with representatives of the MI-6 Secret Intelligence Service during his recent visit to the UK, the issue of disinformation and fake news was discussed, as well as assistance and protection of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. The press service of the head of the Ukrainian state reported that.
"We had a meeting in the MI-6 office. Unfortunately, I cannot say all the information. That is, these are state affairs. I read what they write about the content of this meeting. Firstly, there were lots of different content at this meeting," Volodymyr Zelensky, answering journalists' questions during a working trip to the Odesa region.
In addition, according to him, of the entire volume of questions from the two-hour meeting with representatives of MI-6, the majority was information about assistance and protection of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, but the president refused to give details.
At the same time, the head of state said that one of the topics discussed at the meeting related to countering disinformation and fake news.
Zelensky noted that the issues of protecting freedom and protecting information are very important for the security of the state, therefore, the creation of independent media is relevant.
