President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his condolences on the earthquakes in Croatia that were observed on December 29-30. The president wrote about this on his Twitter page.

He wished all Croats strength and endurance.

"Deep condolences to Croatia because of the victims of the earthquake. Ukraine prays for all those who suffer from this disaster and wishes strength and endurance. Let all the misfortunes go away this year," reads the message.

On Tuesday, December 28, an earthquake of magnitude 6,3 occurred 46 km southeast of Zagreb (population - about 698,000 people). Three new earthquakes were reported the next day. 

According to the latest data, the death toll from the earthquake in Croatia has reached seven people.

As we reported earlier, representatives of 27 EU member countries signed a letter of consent so that the EU-UK deal on trade and cooperation would start working on January 1, 2021. 

The document is of temporary nature; for it to take effect permanently, it is supposed to be ratified by the European Parliament.
