President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held the phone talk with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. They discussed the plans on the holding of the session of High-Level Strategic Council as the President’s Office reported.

“In the development of the agreements reached by the sides during the official visit of the Ukrainian President to Turkey on August 7-8, 2019, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed plans to hold a regular session of the High-Level Strategic Council in Kyiv by the end of the year,” the message said.

The sides underlined the commitment for the further strengthening of the cooperation at all directions of the mutual interest.

The Turkish President informed about the results of the recent visit to Russia. In this context, the Turkish leader confirmed the consistency of the support by Ankara of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

On August 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin held the meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Moscow.

As it was reported earlier, Ukraine's President arrived in Turkey with the first official visit yesterday on August 7. It stands to mention that there was a threat to the disruption of the meeting due to the escalation in Donbas.

Firstly, he met with Turkish President Recep Erdogan in Ankara. Later he went to Istanbul for the meeting with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and businessmen.
