Zelensky enacts Defense Council's decision on sanctions against thieves in law, crime bosses

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) to impose sanctions against 557 people who are "thieves in law" and 111 foreign "crime bosses". The corresponding decree No. 203/2021 was published on the website of the Ukrainian president.

"Control over the implementation of the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, enacted by this decree, shall be vested in the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine," the statement said.

The decree comes into force on the day of its publication.

As we reported earlier, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) introduced personal sanctions against 557 thieves in law. Also, the NSDC imposed sanctions on 111 foreigners who are crime bosses. This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in his video message.

"The regular meeting of the National Security and Defense Council has come to an end. Its results are important decisions for the country and, probably, heart attacks for those who have been acting against it and nation for years," Zelensky said.
