President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky claimed he had no regrets about changing his actor career to presidency. He said so during the YES Brainstorming 2021 forum in Kyiv.
The official said he would like to become the president who would enjoy people's respect after his time in office is over.
"To be honest, I do not regeret it, because it's definitely and opportunity. Sometimes there are moments when I think: "Why do I need all of this, if sometimes I just lose my human nature and the sense of a real world, talk to people and understand what's going on. You should not be living in your aquarium but remember it was a challenge, and you agreed on it. What matters the most is that people trusted you with this. So you just can't do otherwise. You respect people and you want them to respect you - not now when you're in office, but after that. I'd like to remain the president who is respected by the people, for the people to tell me: we respect you, you did well. I'd like that", Zelensky said.
On August 19, he said it was too soon to say anything about his run for the second consecutive term in office, but "certain matters still need to be completed".
