Zelensky dismisses Security Service heads in Ukraine's five regions

The chiefs of five regional branches of the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) were fired Tuesday, June 11. The respective decrees appeared on the website of President Volodymyr Zelensky. Deputy Head of Presidential Administration Ruslan Ryaboshapka said this at a briefing.

'The decision was made... to sack fire head of regional SBU branches. These are the people involved in the activities related to smuggling', Ryaboshapka claimed.

Oleksandr Dovzhenko (Odesa region), Oleksandr Tkachuk (Lviv region), Oleg Zozulya (Vinnytsia region), Volodymyr Pakhnyuk (Zakarpattia region), Ruslan Storozhuk (Chernivtsi region) left their offices. 

Two deputy heads of SBU were relieved from duties as well. 'According to our information, these people were involved in many illegal actions, including those committed during the electoral campaign', Ryaboshapka said.
