President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed and reappointed lawyer Serhiy Holovaty as a member of the Venice Commission in one day. This is stated in the decrees of the head of state №165 / 2021 and №166 / 2021.
In particular, the first document states that Zelensky adopted the resolution to dismiss Golovaty as a member of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission) upon the expiry of the terms of office.
Then, the President immediately adopted a new decree to appoint Golovaty, Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, as a member of the Venice Commission by consent.
