Commenting on the situation surrounding his predecessor Petro Poroshenko, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he was not involved in Poroshenko’s political persecution. Zelensky stated this in an interview with The Globe and Mail, the president's press service reports.
"I am not interested in Mr. Poroshenko, I am not interested in the issue of political persecution, because I do not do that," Zelensky said.
According to him, the fifth president portrays the victim on purpose, so that everyone believes that there is political persecution in Ukraine.
In addition, Zelensky noted that local elections will be held in Ukraine soon - and this is another big political case of Poroshenko. However, the current head of the Ukrainian stated is convinced that most people in Ukraine understand that the ex-president is playing a political theater.
As we reported earlier, Ukraine's Prosecutor General Iryna Venedyktova stated that the case against the fifth president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is not political and is about fulfilling the requirements of the law.
