President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces of Ukrainian origin on Veterans Day. The holiday is marked annually on November 11. The Head of the Ukrainian state posted his greeting on Facebook.

"In partnership with our friends and allies the Ukrainian nation has won victories around the world. Today marks a day of tribute and respect to the warriors of our strategic partner and ally, the United States. Ukrainian Americans have served with honor and dignity in the ranks of the US Armed Forces. Great American heroes such as Sgt. Michael Strank, USMC whose squad erected the legendary flag on the black sands of Iwo Jima. No less significant are those Ukrainian Americans who have been awarded the US Armed Forces highest award for valor, the Medal of Honor. Those legendary Ukrainian American warriors: Nicholas Minue, John Dutko, and Nicholas Oresko, serve as a living testament to American values. Another example of quiet, dedicated service is that of Roman Kupchynsky, a man who quietly made history. I would like to congratulate the American Veterans Service Organization, the Ukrainian American Veterans (UAV). Today, Veterans Day in America, the Ukrainian American veterans reverently preserve the Ukrainian culture and martial spirit of the Cossacks. Thank you for your continued support of Ukraine during these trying times. Glory to Ukraine! God bless America!" Zelensky wrote.
