Zelensky congratulates Maia Sandu on winning Moldova's presidential election

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has congratulated Maia Sandu on becoming the winner of the presidential election in Moldova. It is reported that the country has already processed 99% of the votes. Zelensky wrote about this on his Twitter page.

"I congratulate Maia Sandu on winning the presidential election in Moldova. I look forward to further strengthening of relations between Ukraine and Moldova for the European future of our peoples," the statement said.

According to preliminary estimates, Sandu is leading with 57.63% of the votes.

As we reported earlier, on November 11, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba held talks with newly-appointed Foreign Minister of Moldova Aureliu Ciocoi.

“The parties confirmed the intention to deepen the Ukrainian-Moldovan relations, particularly, to solve the issue of concern gathered in previous years,” reads the message.

It is noted that the ministers confirmed the mutual support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and Moldova in the internationally recognized borders.
