President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He stated this during Freedom of Speech talk show.
“Yes. All bilateral meetings will be held between all presidents,” he said.
Zelensky expects to find understanding that everyone wants to end the war. “I want to see a man, and I want to bring from Normandy an understanding and feeling that really everyone wants to gradually end this tragic war,” he said.
The president added that the only thing he was afraid of after the meeting was the ineffectiveness of the negotiations.
“I’m just such a person, I want the result. The only thing that makes me nervous, I can be nervous, it's when we just met, saw each other and said:“ Yes, we are planning.” I really do not like the failure of any negotiations, it’s true. Therefore it’s the only thing I’m afraid of. And what should I be afraid of? I’m the president of a free country, I’m a normal decent person, I’m never selling our country to anyone for anything. The truth is on our side, "he said.
