Zelensky comes to Paris, visits Station F startup incubator

Ukrainian president reiterated that development of the IT sector and fighting corruption would be his top priorities

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky came to Paris with a working visit. While the scheduled meeting with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron is still up ahead - as of 2 p.m. - the leader of the Ukrainian state visited Station F, the startup incubator.

Zelensky spoke with the IT forum representatives. He claimed he came to power to fight corruption and develop the IT technoogies.

'All innovations mean a lot to me. My major goal was fighting corruption, as well as innovations and the digital sector. Our idea is to create a country in the smartphone, and we're gathering strong people with clear views, working on that program, and I think we will surely do that; I guess our guys will stay to work in Ukraine, too', he said.

According to Zelensky, the IT industry and technologies are developing rapidly in Ukraine; the industry makes more than four percent of the country's GDP, he said.
