There can be no opposition in Ukraine during crisis due to coronavirus

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called on MPs to adopt land and banking laws necessary to receive financial assistance from the International Monetary Fund. He said this during a speech at an extraordinary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, which was broadcast on 112 Ukraine TV channel.

He added that the adoption of these laws is vital for Ukraine.

"Today it is important to support our economy. It is vitally important. This is a help circle for our economy. And we understand that there are many questions. I am sure that each of you has questions to this or that law, to our relations with international partners," – Zelensky noted.

He added that at the time of the crisis, there can be no opposition in Ukraine due to the coronavirus.

“I understand everything, but we really should not be divided into this is a ‘pro-government party’, and this is the opposition. We can’t have any opposition during the crisis because of coronavirus disease. Therefore, I ask you to support these bills. It really depends on your vote today whether this financial support of our economy will be very important or not,” – President stated
