A meeting between US President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky began in Washington.
The meeting began at 21:00 (Kyiv time) in the Oval Office of the White House.
"The meeting between the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the President of the United States Joseph Biden has begun in the White House (Washington). Before the talks, the heads of state will make short statements to the media. After that, negotiations will take place in an expanded format, as well as face-to-face.
Zelensky also said in his Twitter that the meeting with his American counterpart had already begun.
According to him, the parties are going to discuss security, including energy, and renewal of the strategic partnership.
The meeting of the presidents was postponed on August 31. On August 29, the White House stated that the meeting of Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky and American leader Joe Biden will take place on September 1. The presidents will sign a number of defense partnership agreements.
