The District Administrative Court of Kyiv is asked to declare the recent announcement of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on conducting a nationwide public opinion poll illegal. It was reported by the court's press service.
It is noted that a resident of Ivano-Frankivsk region was the one who filed a lawsuit against the Ukrainian President.
"Among other requirements of this lawsuit is to oblige Volodymyr Zelensky to refrain from taking action regarding appointing and conduct a public opinion poll at polling stations on October 25, 2020," the statement said.
As we reported earlier, according to the Office of the President of Ukraine, this poll is not going to have any legal consequences.
"The nationwide poll proposed by the President will give every citizen an opportunity to express what is really important for our society so that public opinion can be attested at the state level without its adjustment by various ‘experts’ and politicians with more than 20 years of experience in manipulating people's expectations. That is, the state asks direct questions to society and receives direct answers without intermediaries," the statement said.
