President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Turkey on a working visit. Today he is scheduled to meet with his counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey Andriy Sibiga announced this on his Facebook page.
"The working visit of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky with his wife to the Republic of Turkey has begun. The head of state will meet with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan," Sibiga wrote.
The diplomat added that the ninth meeting of the High-level Strategic Council between Ukraine and Turkey will be held under the co-chairmanship of the presidents of the two states. It is also planned to sign a number of bilateral documents.
This is not Zelensky's first working visit to Turkey. The previous one took place in October last year and was also marked by a meeting between the Ukrainian president and Erdogan.
Representatives of Ukraine and Turkey then signed a number of bilateral documents in the field of defense and economy, including a Memorandum on projects in the field of the defense industry, the Framework Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers and the Government of Turkey, the Protocol of the Twelfth Meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Turkish Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
