On Saturday, May 8 President Volodymyr Zelensky together with the ambassadors of the G7 countries and the European Union, arrived on a working trip to the Luhansk region. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
"President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is on a working trip to the Luhansk region. The head of state will take part in a ceremony of honoring the memory of the victims of World War II. Ambassadors of the G7 and EU countries arrived in the Luhansk region together with Volodymyr Zelensky," the message reads.
On May 8, Ukraine and many European countries celebrate the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation.
Earlier today, President Zelenskiy issued a statement in which he said that the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation in Ukraine is not a replacement for May 9. According to him, this day is celebrated in order to "never forget that Nazism was an absolute evil, and anyone who tries to justify it deserves only blame."
