President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed law No. 1131-IX "On the approval of the decision of the president of Ukraine on the admission of units of the armed forces of other states to the territory of Ukraine in 2021 for participation in multinational exercises,” which the Verkhovna Rada adopted on January 26, 2021. This was reported by the press service of the President's Office.
In general, it is planned to conduct eight multinational exercises on the territory of Ukraine, in which it is planned to involve about 21,000 Ukrainian military personnel and about 11,000 foreign participants.
These multinational exercises include Ukrainian-US exercises Rapid Trident and Sea Breeze-2021, Ukrainian-Romanian exercise Riverine, Ukrainian-Polish exercise Three Swords and Ukrainian-UK exercise Warrior Watcher.
In addition, the document contains a plan for the participation of the Ukrainian military in 17 multinational exercises outside Ukraine, in particular with the participation of NATO countries and Georgia.
As we reported earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky instructed to conduct an inspection of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that carry out tasks in Donbas.
The main purpose of the inspection is to check the state of readiness of the forces and means involved in the Joint Force Operation (JFO) to run mission as intended, as well as to determine the effectiveness of measures taken by the leadership of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military command and control units for the comprehensive support of forces from means performing tasks in the east countries.
