Serhiy Demedyuk became the Deputy Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council. The respective appointment is claimed in the respective decree signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Demedyuk previously served as the Chief of Cyber Police of the National Police of Ukraine. In the office of the Deputy Secretary of Ukraine's National Security Council, he replaced Oleksandr Lytvynenko.
As we reported earlier, the family of former first deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleg Gladkovsky paid the bail for him soon after the court's decision to detain him for two months.
In February 2019, journalist investigation agencies Bihus.Info and Nashi Hroshi program alleged that Ihor Gladkovsky, the son of Poroshenko's close ally Oleg Gladkovsky, deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), organized a corruption scheme to smuggle spare military-equipment parts from Russia in 2015.
State defense facilities purchased the smuggled spare parts from private companies linked to Gladkovsky and his friends at highly inflated prices. Ukroboronprom state concern knew the origin of the smuggled parts but agreed to purchase them.
Ihor Gladkovsky, along with Vitaliy Zhukov and Andriy Rogoza were supplying smuggled Russian components and components from the Ukrainian military units through straw companies at prices 2-4 times higher than those on the market.
