President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Volodymyr Kravchenko as Commander of Joint Forces as the order #579/2019 of August 5 states.

“To appoint Lieutenant General Volodymyr A. Kravchenko as Commander of Joint Forces,” the order said.

Earlier Kravchenko was the commander of the operational command forces Pivnich (North) of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Moreover, the president dismissed Colonel-General Sergiy M. Popko from the post of the Commander of the Ground Forces and appointed Lieutenant General Oleksandr S. Syrsky at this post.

Oleksandr Syrsky replaced Serhiy Nayev as the Commander of Joint Forces in the east of Ukraine in May 2019 by fifth President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

Anti-terrorist operation was replaced with Joint Forces Operation on April 30, 2018.

As we reported pyrotechnic units of Joint Forces seized and neutralized 137 explosive objects in Donbas conflict zone within a week.
