President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appointed a new Ambassador in the French Republic. Vadym Omelchenko will now serve in this office. The respective decree is now available on the website of the President's Office.  

At that, the head of the state fired Oleh Shamshur from this office. The diplomat is also removed from the office of Ukraine's permanent representative in UNESCO.

Previously, Ukraine's Embassy in France reprimanded French company Danone, as it promoted its product with the participation of Russian actor Mikhail Porechenkov; the artist came to Donbas in 2014, and fired a machine gun, aiming at Ukrainian army positions.

On June 9, the special flight with Ukrainians, evacuated from seven world countries, departed from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, as Ukraine’s consular service in France reported on Facebook. “165 passengers are the citizens of Ukraine and foreigners with a residence permit in Ukraine just took off by the special flight Fly UIA from Paris Aéroport - Charles de Gaulle to Kyiv,” the message said. The citizens evacuated from France, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Algeria, Brazil, the UK, the U.S., and Mexico were aboard the plane.
