President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will participate in the Second Forum of the Regions of Ukraine and Belarus on October 4, in Zhytomyr, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
It is worth noting that the first forum of regions of Ukraine and Belarus was held last year, it was attended by ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
Lukashenko has repeatedly stated that Belarus is ready to play a role in resolving the conflict in the Donbas. Belarus is ready to introduce a peacekeeping mission to the Donbas and take control of the Ukrainian-Russian border, but this requires a decision from both sides.
As we reported earlier, Lukashenko stated that Donbas conflict could not be settled without the participation of the U.S. He made such a statement during the meeting with Deputy U.S. State Secretary David Hale.
“I am sure that it is impossible to settle the conflict without the participation of the U.S. The U.S. would be able to promote the settlement of the conflict,” the Belarus leader said.
