On March 13, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a telephone conversation with Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Al Nagayan, The parties discussed combating COVID-19 and resuming the flow of investments in Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the President of Ukraine.
"Thank you for your humanitarian assistance to Ukrainian physicians in the fight against the spread of coronavirus that will save more than one human life. The United Arab Emirates is showing an example of an effective fight against the pandemic," Zelensky said.
He also thanked his talk partner for assisting the return of thousands of Ukrainian citizens from the UAE and other countries.
The Ukrainian leader suggested stepping up joint efforts between Ukraine and the UAE in the fight against the spread of coronavirus disease.
As we reported earlier, the European Union will allocate another four million euro to Ukraine for support of the volunteers who help to fight against the spread of coronavirus infection.
“We support volunteers! Everyone’s efforts are needed to beat COVID-19. Thousands of volunteers taking action to help the most vulnerable people in Ukraine. They deliver food to the elderly, support teachers to go online and are battling disinformation. EU provides €4 million to support these civic initiatives,” EU Ambassador Matti Maasika stated.
