Mayor of Zaporizhia Volodymyr Buryak has resigned. The powers of the mayor were entrusted to the secretary of the city council, Anatoly Kurtev. This was reported by the press service of the Zaporizhia City Council.

"A secret ballot was held. 50 deputies took part in it. 45 of them supported the decision to terminate the powers of the mayor, 2 voted against, 3 abstained," the statement says.

Also, the deputies decided to delegate the powers of the mayor to the secretary of the city council Anatoly Kurtev. He will remain in this post until a new mayor is elected in early elections.

Earlier, we reported that Andriy Kryshchenko, the chief of Main Department of National Police in Kyiv resigned; his resignation letter was accepted. 

Kryshchenko thanked the policemen for their work claiming he was proud of it. At that, he  never specified the reason why he would resign.

Andriy Kryshchenko served in this office since 2015. Prior to that, he chaired the Main Department of Interior Affairs in Kharkiv (2015), and the Organized Crime Unit in Donetsk region.
