"Yuriy Vitrenko has just been appointed Acting Minister of Energy at the emergency meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers," Honcharenko wrote.

As we reported earlier, at the meeting on December 17, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine did not support the candidature of Yuriy Vitrenko for the position of the First Vice Prime Minister – the Minister of Energy. Only 186 MPs supported the decision.

Yuriy Vitrenko is an economist and financier; the son of politician Natalya Vitrenko and Director-General of AYA Capital investment company.

He worked in Naftogaz-Ukraine for 18 years. He was the assistant of the deputy chairman of the board, head of detachments of corporate finance, chief adviser of chairman of the board, and an external advisor. In November 2018, he was appointed to the position of executive director. The last position of Vitrenko at the company was the director of business development.

However, on June 11, 2020, Naftogaz revoked Yuriy Vitrenko from the position of the representative of the shareholder at the supervisory board of Ukrnafta. Already on July 17, 2020, Vitrenko left the position of Naftogaz executive director.
