U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch resisted the policy of Trump as Rudolph Giuliani, the lawyer of U.S. President Donald Trump stated in an interview to Ukrainian journalist Dmytro Anopchenko.
“Yes, part of the problem created for us in the U.S. was the ambassador, who is suspended now. She was part of all these efforts against President Trump. About a year ago one of the congressmen said that she assures the Ukrainian officials that President Trump will face impeachment. The cases of the provision of false information to the Ukrainian authorities took place. Such counteracting to the policy of President Trump!,” Giuliani noted.
He also thinks that the U.S. Embassy participated in the conspiracy against Trump.
“…it would right until the end if president-elect imitated the investigation, openly, due to, let’s call it, conspiracy in which particular Ukrainian officials participated and some Americans were involved in it, including representatives of the U.S. Democratic National Committee, Hillary Clinton and, unfortunately, our American Embassy to Ukraine. They allowed the corruption information exchange and it harmed candidate Trump and his campaign,” Giuliani said.
He did not announce the names of the possible successors of Yovanovitch but noted, “it will be a person, who supports the administration of President Trump and who rightly understands his policy in this difficult and key region of the world.”
On May 6, the media reported that Yovanovitch was recalled from her office in Kyiv due to the expiry of her three-years-long cadence. She is supposed to get back to the States on May 20. The Department of the State confirmed it.
