The new UN Secretary General, – most likely, Antontio Guterres – will be more supportive and more inclined to offering Ukraine assistance than his predecessor. Volodymyr Yelchenko, Ukraine’s permanent representative in the UN, said this in his interview with the Voice of America.
The diplomat admitted Ukraine would never support ‘candidacy of the man who ignores the Ukrainian issue’.
‘Unlike the neutrality, to put it softly (actually, the carelessness) of the current UN Secretary General towards Ukraine and its problems… I guess the next Secretary General will be much more inclined to support us,’ Yelchenko said.
