Starobilsk district court in Luhansk region prolonged the detention period for Oleksandr Yefremov, the former MP and parliamentary faction leader of the currently disbanded Party of Regions. Judge Oleksandr Pelykh said this at a session on April 26.
'The court ruled that the restriction measure for Oleksandr Yefremov should be extended until June 24, including that date', he said. Thus, the court granted the motion of Prosecutor General.
Currently, the court interviews witnesses.
Oleksandr Yefremov was detained on suspicion accused of violation of foreign territorial supremacy and infringement of inviolability of Ukraine. They took him in at Kyiv airport in July 2016. Yefremov is also charged with direct support of pro-Russian militants in Luhansk region and misappropriation of a local coal company's property.
