Russian president Vladimir Putin was among the first to congratulate Donald Trump on winning the US presidential election. The according message was posted on the official website of the Russian Presidential Executive Office.
Mr Putin said “he hopes for work together to lift Russian-US relations out of the current crisis, resolve issues on the international agenda, look for effective responses to global security challenges.”
The President also said “he is confident that Moscow and Washington can establish a constructive dialogue based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, and genuine consideration for each other’s positions. This would be in the interests of both peoples and of the entire international community.”

Georgia ex-president Saakashvili commented on USA elections and boasted of his friendship, stating that knows Republican Donald Trump for more than 20 years. He wrote about this on his Facebook page. He also noted that Trump is a strong personality with unexpected policy and advised to be careful and organized more than ever.
Donald Tusk and Jean-Claude Juncker sent a letter to congratulate Donald Trump and invite to Europe for early summit to chart EU-US relations next 4 years.

The Minister-President of the Netherlands Mark Rutte also congratulated Trump on his election and was looking forward to close cooperation with the new US government. He said it on his Facebook page.
Earlier, unprecedented record voter turnout was reported. Americans were very active, they brought their children to show them the process of voting, some were even bringing dogs.
