The Taliban terrorist group, which seized power in Afghanistan, believes that women cannot work in the government, since their task is to give birth and raise children. Taliban spokesman Sayed Zekrullah Hashimi said this in an interview with Tolo News.

"A woman can't be a minister, it is like you put something on her neck that she can't carry. It is not necessary for a woman to be in the cabinet, they should give birth & women protesters can't represent all women in Afghanistan," he said.

Earlier the Taliban stated that they intend to invite women to the government. In particular, Enamulla Samangani, a member of the Taliban Culture Commission, spoke about this.

"The Islamic Emirate does not want women to become victims. They should be involved in the work of government structures in accordance with Sharia law," Samangani said.

In Kabul and other cities in Afghanistan, women have protested peacefully to guarantee equal rights for women and men and create an inclusive government. These protests were dispersed by the Taliban.
