Viktor Lyashko headed Ukraine’s Ministry of Health. His candidacy was supported by 262 MPs.

Thus, Lyashko, as head of the Ministry of Health, replaced Maksym Stepanov, who had previously been dismissed by the Verkhovna Rada.

Who is Viktor Lyashko?

He was born on April 24, 1980, in Osove, Rivne region, graduated from the National Medical University.

In 2015 he graduated from the correspondence course at the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine (Master of Public Administration in the field of health care).

In 2017, he completed the WHO Barcelona Course on Strengthening Health Systems to Improve Tuberculosis Control and Treatment.

Previous places of work: Deputy Head of the Ministry of Health - Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine, Deputy General Director of the Center for Public Health, expert of the Reanimation Package of Reforms, Head of the Public Association "Infection Control in Ukraine", Head of the Kyiv Regional Laboratory Center of the SES.

According to the declaration for 2020, Viktor Lyashko, together with his wife and daughter, owns an apartment in Brovary. He also owns three land plots in the Kyiv region.
