White House gathers signatures for petition in support of Sentsov

A petition calling the US Government to facilitate the release of Ukrainian filmmaker Oleg Sentsov detained in Russia appeared on the website of the White House. 

The treatment needs to get 100 thousand voices until September 8 to be viewed by the Administration of the USA President. As of the evening of the Saturday, the number of voices is 900.

‘European Parliament has already addressed Vladimir Putin with a request to urgently release Oleg Sentsov and the others. Now, it is time for America to say its word. We are calling our Government to take a firm position on this issue and to use all the levers to demand the urgent release of Oleg Sentsov and other political prisoners in Russia,’ reads the petition. 

Reportedly, the US Embassy to Russia calls to release falsely imprisoned Ukrainian filmmaker Oleg Sentsov.
