The meeting between US President Donald Trump and his Ukraine's counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky will be held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York next week. This is stated on the White House website following a telephone conversation between Zelensky and US Vice President Mike Pence.

Pence and Zelensky also discussed their meeting in Warsaw, during which the US Vice President assured Zelensky of further US support.

During the telephone conversation, Zelensky focused on the importance of Washington's defense support for the country.

On September 12, it was reported that the US Department of State authorized the allocation of $ 141.5 million for assistance in Ukraine’s security sphere.
US President Donald Trump does not rule out the possibility of joining the negotiations regarding peace in Ukraine. The Voice of America reports this.

"I believe that the fact of prisoners' exchange between Russia and Ukraine is a very big step, and a very positive step. If they needed me to join, I would join, but really, a very positive event took place," Donald Trump said.

Earlier US President Donald Trump called the exchange of prisoners between the Russian Federation and Ukraine the good news and stated that this was a step towards peace, and his security adviser John Bolton considered that a serious event. Bolton also stressed that the United States continues to support the people of Ukraine.
