Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal stated that the government was refusing to extend the weekend quarantine, which had had a positive effect. He announced this during a government meeting.
According to the official, the number of infected with coronavirus has decreased by six thousand people, compared to forecasts.
"We had a positive effect at the end of the weekend quarantine, on November 30. In the previous week, we received 6,000 fewer cases than expected," he emphasized.
As we reported earlier, the level of support for the introduction of a total lockdown in Ukraine has increased from 36 to 42%.
At the same time, the number of respondents, who believe that the spread of coronavirus due to lockdown will decrease, has increased (from 55 to 58%).
"Over the past two weeks, the attitude of Ukrainians to the introduction of fines for staying in public places and transport without masks has not changed. 60% support the introduction of fines for institutions that do not adhere to the weekend quarantine, 37% do not support this decision," the statement said.
