The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that the “border” wall, which is being constructed by Russian in the occupied Crimea, would not change the fact of the illegal annexation of the Ukrainian peninsula, claimed Speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kateryna Zelenko on Twitter.
‘The construction of bridges, fences and barriers by the occupant state will not change anything in the status of the Ukrainian Crimea. The legal responsibility of the Kremlin occupation regime for crimes is inevitable,’ Zelenko said.
As we reported earlier, Russia finished works on building up the fence on the administrative border with annexed Crimea.
It became known that Russia wanted to build up forced entry-resistant construction in November 2017. Russian Security Service reported on the end of the construction on December 28. The representatives of the service stated that there are several hundreds of sensors of various action types.
The occupation authorities stated that in such a way they are trying to provide security on the peninsula.
In his turn, the Deputy Minister of Temporarily Occupied Territories and IDPs Yuriy Grymchak stated that the construction of the fence was a “quite weird” decision, as Crimea is a peninsula and there are many entries to it.
