Vyacheslav Shtuchny became the Chief of Staff of the Verkhovna Rada. The corresponding decision was made by 315 votes of members of parliament.
Shtuchny has already headed the Verkhovna Rada from September 2019 to July 2020. Prior to that, he held the position of First Deputy Head of the State Security Administration, appointed to this position by President Volodymyr Zelensky in May 2019.
In 2017-2018, Shtuchny was a researcher at the Research Center for Combating Organized Crime under the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC). And since January 2018, he has been a freelance adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
On July 15, 2020, Shtuchny wrote a letter of resignation from the post of Chief of Staff of the Verkhovna Rada. In his statement, Shtuchny explained that he was being appointment to another position in a state body. On July 20, 2020, Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Shtuchny First Deputy Head of the State Protection Department.
