The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with Kurt Volker, the U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine, during the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly. Volker presented the President with a symbolic hard copy of the declaration of Mike Pompeo, the U.S. State Secretary, as of July 15, 2018, which documents the U.S. position concerning the recognition of the illegal annexation of Crimea, as the President’s Administration reports.

“With this declaration, the State Secretary Pompeo had clearly confirmed that the U.S. do not and never will recognize Russian annexation of Crimea,” Volker said.
