U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker says that in his Dubai meeting with Aide of Russian President Vladislav Surkov he didn’t propose a specific plan on deploying a UN peacekeeping mission in Donbas, as he told in a phone briefing in Brussels.
Kurt Volker noted that no specific plan had been introduced in Dubai. He emphasized that they had a detailed discussion with Mr. Surkov, but there wasn’t a document as to how the UN peacekeeping mission would be working in practice.
He also said there’s no date for the next meeting for now.
As we reported earlier, the meeting between the two officials took place in Dubai on Jan. 26.
After the meeting, Vladislav Surkov said that the U.S. side introduced “a rather comprehensive plan of a step-by-step deploying of the mission”, which he found “attainable”.
