U.S. Special Representative to Ukraine Kurt Volker discussed with Donald Trump’s lawyer Rudolph Giuliani the meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky’s assistant Andriy Yermak as The Voice of America reported.
The written exchanges of Giuliani and Volker show that the special envoy talked to Trump’s personal lawyer about the Ukrainian issue and helped him to establish contact with people in Zelensky’s administration.
“Mr. Mayor… as discussed, connecting you here with Andrey Yermak, who is very close to President Zelensky…,” Volker wrote to Giuliani on July 19.
In another message, Volker offered Giuliani to consult him about Zelensky and the dynamic of Russian-Ukrainian relations.
Trump’s lawyer stated that State Secretary Mike Pompeo, who is obliged to provide the documents on this case on the request of Congress, has no grounds for unrest as his subordinate did nothing wrong. The State Secretary knew that Giuliani communicated with Volker. Giuliani regrets the resignation of U.S. Special Representative to Ukraine.
He denies the assumption that exactly Volker could be the author of the complaint filed within the program of protection of whistle-blower of corruption.
