“The Kremlin is well aware of Nadiya’s position regarding the petition for pardon. When Mark Feygin (Nadiya Savchenko’s lawyer) says he’s going to persuade her to change her mind, he just wants to show he’s involved. But that’s already a political case, and it’s up to the politicians; perhaps it would be better if lawyers kept silence and just reported how the procedure’s going. Sadly, we hear statements that do not correspond to the facts”, Vira Savchenko said in an interview with 112 Ukraine TV channel.
The fighter pilot’s sister added she met with Ukrainian diplomats at the Foreign Ministry. “They told me they sent money for Nadiya to pay the fine, which she is obliged to pay under the court’s decision”, she said.
