Assistant to Volodymyr Zelensky Andriy Yermak and lobbyist Brian Lanza who is close to Donald Trump could become a new communication channel between the White House and the Ukraine's President Office. Michael Weiss, a New York Times journalist, wrote about their meeting on Twitter.
"... Brian Lanza, a former Trump campaign official turned lobbyist, was meeting with Zelensky’s aide (and former Rudy contact) Andriy Yermak at Goodman steak house in Kyiv," the journalist wrote.
Weiss also suggested that Lanza could be the new unofficial channel of communication between the White House and the Office of the President of Ukraine.
“... Could he be a new ‘back-channel’ between the White House and Zelensky’s administration? Traveling to Ukraine “on business” is a very convenient cover story, after all,” Weiss said.
He also noted that an unknown source recorded and posted on Youtube a video of the meeting, which, apparently, was also attended by PR consultant of Yermak Daria Zarivnaya.
Also, Ukrayinska Pravda reported on the meeting of Zelensky’s assistant Andrei Yermak and Brian Lanza.
The meeting of the Zelensky's official assistant and the American lobbyist took place on the evening of November 13 at the Kyiv Goodman restaurant on Zhilyanska Street. At first, Lanza spent time in the company of Yermak’s assistant, and about 22.00, Zelensky’s aide himself joined them.
The reason for the meeting between Yermak and lobbyist Brian Lanza is unknown.
Previously, CNN reported that Brian Lanza was one of the lobbyists who achieved the lifting of sanctions on companies of the close to the Kremlin Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska.
Prior to that, Lanza was an adviser to Donald Trump during his presidential election campaign. According to US media, the lobbyist is still in constant contact with White House officials.
